It's been a while since I posted an update so this will be a short one but possibly exciting, not sure. Anyways over the last couple of weeks I have been putting some serious time into the development of the administration area and the blog management pages specifically. I have had one slight problem since I moved the blog system from a markdown flat file based system to a proper database driven one, and that was I had no real way to manage my content outside of opening up my SQL terminal or phpMyAdmin, and those are not desirable editors for things like a blog post.
Anyways I have been working on the back end of the website to get things ready for this, still need to do a lot more work on that front, but it's good enough for now. I now have the ability to manage my blog posts from the back end with a rich text editor. I'll be expanding the account, moderation, and administration panels more as I develop the website but for now I will be focusing primarily on rewriting and improving the back end to use the new hooking system (oh I forgot to mention I have added proper hooks to the code and html templates, yeah those are thing now too) so I am not manually editing files unrelated to my workflow. For example instead of writing a single line entry for a new navigation menu item in the core layout files, I can just declare a hook and have it do it there.
For now this is just all I wanted to share, if you want to know more my source code is available on GitHub. I'm going to go take a break from coding as I spent the last few hours coding the administration panels. Oh look pretty pictures.
